Evaluation of processes
During Media unit 14, I was able to successfully follow all of the required production processes. These processes included planning, location recce, health and safety checks, and a mind-map for all of my creative ideas involving the film poster.
The production process helped me to produce the correct materials that would contribute to my final poster design. By making mistakes in my earlier designs I learned how to gradually improve as I went on. I improved more and more with each design draft, giving me more practice and experience with making a poster on photoshop and all the factors that went into it.
By researching other film posters and analysing all of the conventions that film posters required to have, it gave me a lot of insight into how film posters were constructed. By having a more well rounded understanding of how film posters were made from my research into colour theory and graphics, I was able to apply that knowledge to my own production process.
The photos for the model in the poster were taken in the Long Road photography studio where I created a contact sheet for all the images I could use for my poster. My health and safety practices included using all of the camera equipment carefully, never looking directly into the studio lights and making sure that all of my data was recorded and saved at the end of the shoot so that nothing was lost.
Overall, I feel very confident in my abilities to carry out the production process of creating a film poster. I believe that I completed everything leading up to the final design to its full extend and have been able to successfully evaluate the extent of my work throughout the production in order to better my work and myself later on.
